When we are eating meals, the food already contains water which means as we eat food we are also taking in the water. In order for the stomach to digest the food, we need water and the water supply comes from the food we eat or from the water we drink. When people drink water while eating, they usually tend to swallow it without chewing enough and sometimes lead to bad digestion.
If you drink water when your throat is dried up or dried lips, you already have missed the adequate time to provide the water to the body. When you are suffering from thirst, it’s giving you a warning that your body has already lost the sodium balance in the body from loss of water and disturbs the blood circulation. It is important that you drink at least 8 cups of water a day and not wait until you are thirsty.
So is it bad to drink water during exercises? It’s better to drink water when exercising because if you don’t get enough water to the body, your muscles will start getting clamps. A physical science professor recommended drinking at least 480ml of water before exercising and a half cup of water while exercising.
